What is Yukkai Free?
Free is exactly what it sounds like: a no-cost model that you can use without spending Wallet credits.
When you use Free:
- You don't pay anything — no Wallet balance is consumed.
- You have a fixed daily and monthly usage limit (separate from your Wallet).
- You get access to a capable model for everyday tasks.
How It Works
- Select Yukkai Free from the model picker.
- Send your message.
- The request is processed at no charge.
- Your usage counts toward your daily/monthly free quota.
- Wait for the quota to reset (daily or monthly, whichever comes first).
- Switch to Fusion, Frontier, or a personal model.
When to Use Free
Use Yukkai Free for:
- Trying Yukkai — explore the app's capabilities without spending money.
- Light everyday requests — quick questions, simple tasks, casual use.
- Learning how Yukkai works — experiment with prompts, tools, and features.
- Backup option — when your Wallet is empty but you still need basic AI assistance.
Limitations
No Media Generation
Yukkai Free does not cover media generation. Images, videos, and audio clips still go through paid models (from Google), so those aren't included in the free usage.
If you ask for an image while using Free:
- Yukkai will use the paid media generation models.
- The cost will be deducted from your Wallet balance (if you have one).
- If you don't have Wallet credits, the media generation request will fail with an HTTP 402 error.
Usage Limits
Free has fixed daily and monthly limits. The exact limits aren't publicly specified, but they're designed for light use — if you're a heavy user, you'll hit them quickly.
When you hit the limit:
- You'll see a message indicating the free quota is exhausted.

You can switch between Free, Fusion, Frontier, and other models at any time from the model picker:
- Free → Fusion — upgrade when you hit the free limit or need more capability.
- Free → Frontier — jump to maximum capability for a complex task.
- Free → Personal model — use your own OpenRouter key.
- Free → Local — switch to offline inference (with limitations).
