Those are single models inside a chat window. Yukkai is a system on top of many models. It routes each part of a mission to the intelligence best suited for it, runs teams of agents in parallel, keeps a persistent memory of your work, and can act natively on your Mac — read files, write code, generate media, control applications. You are not locked into one provider.

Yukkai is built with native Apple technologies and runs on modern Macs. An Apple Silicon Mac (M-series) is recommended, and is required to run open-source models locally with Apple MLX. Cloud models work regardless of your hardware.

Yes. The application is free to download and use, with no subscription. You can work with Yukkai Free, use the free models made available by LLM providers, or run open-source models locally on your Mac — at no cost. See how it works →

Paid usage runs through a prepaid pay-as-you-go wallet. You top up when you want, and credit is deducted as you use paid models through the Yukkai Key. Nothing renews automatically, and you only pay for what you use. Full details are in our Terms of Sale.

The Yukkai Key is a single key that unlocks more than 200 models — including Yukkai Fusion and Yukkai Frontier, our composite intelligences. Usage is billed against your wallet, with no subscription.

Absolutely. You can import your OpenRouter key to use every model available through OpenRouter at provider price, or download and run open-source models locally with Apple MLX — private and offline. Change models mid-conversation, or combine several inside one mission.

Partly. Open-source models running locally with Apple MLX work entirely offline, on your device. Cloud models — through the Yukkai Key or your own provider key — require an internet connection.

Your memory, your imported keys (encrypted) and your file snapshots stay on your Mac. We don’t read your local memory, files or conversations, and we don’t sell your personal data. Security is part of the intelligence, not an add-on. Yukkai combines multiple protection layers: controlled permissions, restricted tools, human approvals for sensitive actions, secure execution, automatic snapshots and recoverable file history. Agents receive only the capabilities required for their mission, and you can restore files if an automated change produces the wrong result. Learn more →

Yes — like any AI, output can be inaccurate or incomplete. Yukkai includes verification and review mechanisms, and sensitive actions can require your explicit approval, but you remain responsible for evaluating results before relying on them.
